Support for your mental health
Poor mental health can mean feeling sad or stressed, or finding it hard to cope with daily life.
You might feel like this for many reasons – bereavement, loneliness, relationship issues, money, health or work problems. But there might also be no clear reason for it. It can happen to anyone, at any time and for any length of time.
There are a number of sessions running at Down Town with the Burnley West Health and Wellbeing Team, including dementia carers support and the Carers Link meet-up. Please see the timetable for full details.

Tackling loneliness
Loneliness and isolation can have a real impact on emotional health and overall well-being. In Burnley, there are many welcoming groups and spaces where you can meet others, chat, and share a brew.
You can explore the Warm Hearts, Warm Spaces: Find a warm space – burnley.gov.uk.
NATTERSHACK sessions welcome people of all ages. There’s no need to book – just drop in, enjoy a coffee and cake, or stay for lunch while meeting new faces. For more information, you can contact andrea_theone@hotmail.com.

Volunteering can also be a great way to make friends, build connections, and reduce feelings of loneliness. Learn more about volunteering.
Money worries
Worrying about money can affect mental wellbeing, and mental health issues can also make it harder to manage money. The two are often linked. There is plenty of support available to help with budgeting, bills, and money advice.
