Burnley Together launches 2025 Christmas gift appeal

With the festive season fast approaching, Burnley Together is proud to launch its fifth annual Christmas Gift Appeal, bringing joy and happiness to vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Burnley and Padiham.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of the community, the campaign supported over 1,000 children and 523 families, ensuring hundreds of young people woke up to brand-new presents on Christmas morning.

This year, the appeal continues its mission to reach children aged 0 to 18, with the goal of providing five gifts per child, a gesture which can make all the difference during the holidays.

Ella Roberts, Senior Customer Service Advisor at Down Town, shared her thoughts on the campaign’s impact, saying: “The Burnley Together Christmas Appeal is so valuable to so many families across the town.

“Waking up on Christmas morning and knowing we’d helped so many young people feel that sense of excitement during the festive period means the world to us.

“As we prepare to welcome any donations, big or small, to really put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas, the generosity of Burnley’s people in recent years hasn’t gone unnoticed.”

Donations of new and unwrapped gifts are warmly welcomed at the following drop-off points:

  • Down Town, Burnley Town Centre (above New Look)
  • Tesco, Centenary Way, Burnley
  • St Peters Centre
  • Padiham Leisure Centre
  • Asda, Burnley (opening soon – details to follow)

Donations of wrapping paper are also appreciated to help volunteers prepare the gifts for delivery. The deadline for donations is Friday 5 December.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can make this christmas magical for every child who needs a little extra cheer.
