Vote for Down Town to win a Tesco Community Grant!

We’re very lucky to be part of the Tesco Community Grant scheme, which is taking place in stores across the area from July until September.

If you’re shopping at Tesco, please ask for a blue token and pop it in the collection point. You’ll get a choice of a few shortlisted projects, but we’d love it if you could vote for Down Town. If we win, we’d get £1500 to put towards more support for Burnley and Padiham.

Thanks to this generous scheme, everyone’s a winner. The charity that wins second-place will receive £1,000 and the third-place charity will also get £500.

It doesn’t matter if you pop in for a meal deal or you’re doing your full weekly shop, all transactions are given a blue token to place their vote – so make sure you make your vote count, it can make a real difference to your community.

Where you can vote

You can pick up blue tokens at any Tesco store, but here are the locations where you can vote for us…

Burnley Extra (BB11 2HE)
Reedley Burnley Express (BB10 2PA)
Brunshaw Burnley Express (BB10 3JB)
Padiham Superstore (BB12 8DQ)

Why vote for us?

Down Town is our community hub in the heart of Burnley Town Centre. Supporting people from across Burnley and Padiham, we provide access to discounted food, pre-loved clothing and school uniforms, family activities, a community kitchen/café, cooking classes and support and guidance services.

We provide a safe, warm and welcoming environment for everyone in need of support. Whether it’s a brew and a chat for those who are socially isolated or a family looking for half-term inspiration without the cost, Down Town is here for the community.

Located at Charter Walk Shopping Centre, we work in partnership with The Calico Group, Burnley FC in the Community, Burnley Leisure and Culture, Burnley Council and the Message Trust to deliver our vital services.

Supporting projects since 2016

Tesco Community Grants fund thousands of local community projects across the UK, helping to fight holiday hunger, tackle mental health, support young people, host community events and much more.

The scheme aims to make a positive difference – because where our communities thrive, our business and our colleagues thrive too. Started in 2016, the scheme has supported thousands of community groups including more than 6,000 schools, over 2,000 sports teams, 2,300 Brownies, Guides, Rainbows, Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Rangers groups and 1,400 elderly and vulnerable groups.

Come down and see us

You’ll find us in Charter Walk Shopping Centre, above New Look (Burnley, BB11 1QJ). We’re open Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:00 pm. For more information, please email us on contact@burnleytogether.org.uk
