School Uniform Recycling Initiative 2021

This summer, we’ve launched a new school uniform recycling initiative, in partnership with Calico Homes, Burnley FC in the Community, Lancashire County Council, Participation Works, Life Church, Tesco, and St Matthews Church.

We are looking for new, or nearly new items of school uniform to help support families in the Burnley community.

Your generosity can make a real difference to people’s lives, especially at a time when the pandemic may have created unforeseen economic pressures for many. These items can help give children the right start for the new school term ahead.

All sizes of primary and secondary school items are very welcome. We’re particularly keen to receive:

  • School jumpers, polo shirts, shirts/blouses, skirts, dresses, trousers, and blazers
  • School shoes
  • PE Kit (including plimsolls, football boots, trainers)
  • Winter coats
  • Kids waterproofs and wellies

We have collection bins located at:

  • Tesco Extra, Finsley Gate, Burnley BB11 2HE – during store opening hours (you can find details here – https://www.tesco.com/store-locator/burnley/finsley-gate)
  • Burnley FC in the Community Kitchen, Unit 83, Charter Walk Shopping Centre, Burnley BB11 1AD – collecting Monday – Friday, 11am – 2pm
  • St Matthews Church, Harriet Street, Burnley BB11 4JJ – collecting every Saturday through August, between 9am – 11am
  • Calico Homes, Valley St Community Centre, Valley St, Burnley BB11 5LZ – collecting Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
  • Vicky Stevenson, 2 Halifax Rd, Briercliffe, Burnley, BB10 3QH – https://www.facebook.com/groups/328748842006030/?ref=share
