Burnley Together, a local community hub which was initially established to help residents during the COVID19 outbreak, has recently received a generous donation of £2,300 from the Burnley and Pendle District Freemasons.
Charity is a core value for Freemasons and their decision to support Burnley Together follows similar support given to other local services in the past, including food banks and sport facilities. After identifying this opportunity to provide further support for the community, particularly in this time of need, they were delighted to be able to donate to these essential services.
The donation was gratefully received by Burnley Together and will be used to directly help those who need it the most, by way of provision of food parcels and by providing other practical support to vulnerable residents.
Ray Evans, Assistant District Charity Steward for the Burnley and Pendle District Freemasons said: “I’m delighted that this donation will help to make a difference to the lives of those who need it the most. We are keen to assist the local area and in this way, we can help to support the great work carried out by the volunteers at Burnley Together. We hope that our donation will help them towards assisting even more people and having a bigger overall impact.”
